About (Personal)

I'm on the right; my husband is on the left.

My husband and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our town is very scenic and diverse, with wonderful weather and friendly people.

I love to read and am interested in a wide range of subjects, including technology, health, cognitive science, history, translated poetry, thoughtful science fiction, and much more. This is very useful when I work with clients who need editing or rewriting help, since it means that I often know at least a little bit about their field.

I studied Chinese in college, and also for a summer in Taiwan, but I need more practice. I only speak a little Chinese. I’m currently learning Japanese. The Chinese characters that I learned previously are very helpful as I try to memorize Japanese kanji.

I enjoy traveling, and I’m looking forward to returning to Japan and Taiwan someday. I would like to work in Japan in the future. I’d also love to visit Korea and lots of other places.

I also really like teaching English. One of the reasons that I think my career is right for me is that I often talk and read about it in my spare time. My husband is a community college math teacher. We often talk about better ways to teach and learn.

One of the best parts of my job is getting to work with lots of different people. If we get a chance to work together, I look forward to getting to know you.
